Established in June of 1959, in St. Johns, Michigan as St. Johns Tool & Die Company who at that time employed a total of 4 employees. During our years in St. Johns we outgrew our facility and moved to Ovid, Michigan in December 1967, under a new name which we are known as today; Research Tool Corporation. (RTC)

RTC specializes in job shop work, such as precision I.D., O.D., and flat grinding; Wire & Sink EDM; CNC milling and turning; large and small detail work; boring mill work; fabrication & welding; build to print jobs; work-holding fixtures, gages, and special machines. RTC does prototypes, small quantity and production runs up to 50,000 pieces. We work with mild steels, alloys, stainless & alloys, titanium, zirconium, tool steels, aluminum and multiple plastics.  RTC also has full design and build capabilities for anything from fixtures, tooling and gages to complete special machinery.
